Zebra Junction to Release Third CD and Kick-Off European Tour

Fans are invited to a series of unique release parties across the front range

Denver, CO - Profiled as one of the regions' top bands to watch in 2008, Zebra Junction is gearing up for the release of their third studio effort, Pomme de Terre. Literally meaning "Apple of Earth", Pomme de Terre, captures the true unrefined nature of Zebra Junction, and showcases the band's use of unique hand made stringed and percussive instruments. Their attention to musical detail will invoke reactions in a broad range of emotion, sending the listener on a journey of audio discovery.

A series of true revue release parties along the front range will feature performances from Boulder Acoustic Society, Ian Cooke, and Gregory Alan Isakov. Boulder Acoustic Society will perform at each party, and Hodi’s Half Note will kick off the series on April 16, 2008. The Denver release on April 19 will include circus sideshow acts, Ariel and burlesque performances from Lil Miss Firefly (standing at only 27 inches tall!) and The Junkettes (Miss Adrienne and Fannie Spankings). Phelyx the magician will be on hand bending forks....and minds. Pierre St. Pierre (Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret) will emcee the event, which will also feature live painting from Eric Matelski. A finale’ performance on May 14 at The Fox Theatre in Boulder will serve as a celebratory send off for Zebra Junction’s 4th multi-city European tour.

Since their regionally respected release of Waterborne in 2005, Zebra Junction has branded their organic twist of eclectic Americana fare across the United States and abroad through multiple national and European tours. 2006 found the Zebra Junction buzz burning strong with the inclusion of their music on the Oskar Blues Brewery Singing 12 pack compilation, as well as placement with the soundtrack to Josh Blue's “7 More Days in the Tank”, which aired twice on Bravo!. Zebra Junction kicked off 2007 with the band’s third consecutive nomination for a Westword Music Showcase Award in the "Jam/Improv" category. The band also performed at The Paramount Theatre with national comedic presence, Josh Blue, and was invited to perform at the prestigious Film On the Rocks series, where the band played to a sold out crowd at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

About Zebra Junction

Working with a collection of rare, hybrid and homespun instruments, this power duo's Vaudeville approach includes "creative" percussion, baritone guitars, and such unconventional instruments as the banjo-ukulele, a hyper-modified Playskool tape deck used for "skratch", toy piano, and numerous samplers and effects to morph "old school" into "no school".

If Tom Waits fronted the White Stripes with a smattering of Radiohead technology, you might have a sound like Zebra Junction!

ZEBRA JUNCTION IS A POWER DUO OF SEXTET PROPORTIONS

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Shawn “Flitz Alan” Palmer & Micah Lundy are currently wrapping up their third album, and planning American and European tours for early 2008.

Working with a collection of rare, hybrid and homespun instruments, this power duo's Vaudeville approach includes "creative" percussion, baritone guitars, and such unconventional instruments as the banjo-ukulele, a hyper-modified Playskool tape deck used for "scratch", toy piano, and numerous samplers and effects to morph "old school" into "no school".

If Tom Waits fronted the White Stripes with a smattering of Radiohead technology, you might have a sound like Zebra Junction!

The Summer of 2007 saw ZJ playing in front of sold out crowds at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Denver's prestigious Paramount Theatre, as well as being nominated for the third time as one of Denver's best bands.

WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT ZEBRA JUNCTION

"This is fresh, exciting, and sonically vibrant. I am so excited to not only enjoy Waterborne, but to have had Zebra Junction play Red Rocks. This is a must-have piece of art."
– Erik Dyce- Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Zebra Junction, both live and in the studio, melds together a deeply eclectic group of styles. They seamlessly move from funked-up bluegrass to drunken Tin Pan Alley ragtime; from the Celtic sounds of a whaling ship, to colorful electronic grooves, to effortless harmonies. This gutsy-rootsy, high energy power duo, with their creativity and unique repertoire, conjures up a fresh experience that takes the listener from living room to amphitheater. All aboard!
