ABOUT BAND
|
|
The 24th Peak Project is a constantly evolving project made up of the minds of several Denver idealist musicians. It began humbly titled Those Guys, with lead guitarist and banjo player Jeremy Reffel and rhythm guitarist Burl Kramer working out covers and originals alike. Then early in 2006, bassist Adrian Alexander knocked on Reffel’s door while organizing with Environmental Action. A brief conversation revealed a shared love of Miles Davis, The Grateful Dead, and free thinking music and ideals. Adrian was quick to offer his low-end services. The songwriting core of Reffel/Kramer/Alexander set the tone of the project and quickly yielded some of the most honest music any of the boys had performed. After desperately attempting to make the project work in a rock setting with an assortment of drummers, the key came with the addition of mandolinist Richard Fiorillo. Richard's sense of rhythm, soulful lead work, and positive attitude was exactly what the boys were looking for. Now, with gigs booked through the summer, a debut disc in the works, and no lack of ideas coming to mind, the only thing above The Peak is the endless sky.
